Wax Tarts
What are They?
Wax "tarts" about the size of a small jam tart, a candle with no wick. Huh? That's right, a candle with no wick - so how do you burn them? You'll have to wait, that's in the next section. They're available in just about every fragrance Yankee make. Everything from Lavender to Ylang Ylang.FHSelect offer in excess of 100 different fragrances to choose from.
How Are They Used?
People who use aromatherapy oils will be familiar with an oil burner. Well, wax tarts are used in a wax tart burner, which is very similar to an oil burner. (Click on the picture below to see our wax tart burners)
The wax tart goes in the well at the top of the burner, some tart burners have a deep enough well to burn two wax tarts. Some customers use two wax tarts to create there own fragrance mixes, alternatively you can break two tarts in half and use them as a fragrance mixture, or of course just melt one single fragrance..
The last "ingredient" is an unscented tealight. This goes inside the burner and once lit heats the wat tart in the well above causing it to melt. The secret of it's fragrance is locked inside the tart and as soon as it melts the fragrance is released.

These are Yankee's flagship range of candles. Most people associate Yankee with this range. They are available in over 50 fragrances. Housewarmer fragrance spans more than one range, although not all fragrances are available in all ranges. Their scents are available in jars, tins, votives, tarts, tealights and sachets.

Yankee Candle Wax Tarts
Burn time of Wax Tart 8 hours
One of Yankee's least expensive products, and guess what? No wick! So, if candles get on your wick, these are for you (sorry!) These are used in tart burners (oil burners) simply place a tart in the burner and light an un-scented tealight underneath, as the wax tart melts the fragrance is released. You don't even need to burn them, they can be placed in drawers or cupboards for scenting.

Yankee Candle Samplers (Votives)
Burn time of Sampler up to 15 hours in suitable holder.
We're not sure why Yankee decided to call them samplers, maybe because they are a small sample of the larger fragranced candles? Anyway, to the rest of the world they are votives. If you've not used votives before, you place them in a glass votive holder, the reason they need to be in a holder is that the wax liquifies as it burns to release it's fragrance.
If you don't burn them in a holder they make a dreadful mess of your furniture! Once they cool they solidify once again.
