Which Wax?

Unbeliveably you've managed to select a fragrance, thank goodness for that, now you notice a different candle with Soy wax, and another with Palm Oil wax, and yet another with Natural wax, surely there can't be so many waxes available? Well, FHSelect is all about choice. They appreciate that you have a choice of products, be it votives, wax tarts, scented reeds, jar candles. They appreciate you have a choice of fragrances; florals, fruits, spice. They certainly appreciate you have a choice of supplier too! But wax, why a choice in wax? The type of wax can effect the burn time, the fragrance throw even how cleanly the candle burns. Here we look at the types of wax available and the manufacturers that use it..

Soy Wax

If you know anything about wax, you'll have heard of Soy wax (don't worry of you haven't by the way!)

Soy and natural waxes are a biodegradable, renewable, agricultural resource.
Soy wax makes an environmentally friendly candle.
Soy candles are cleaner and cooler-burning.

The candles' containers can easily by cleaned with hot, soapy water and then reused or recycled.

Soy and vegetable waxes are starting to be recognized as the informed consumer's candle type of choice. Burnt Out Solutions have worked for years to develop their superior soy wax blends, which offer long burning times, clean and complete burns, good scent throw and exceptional quality and value.

Palm Oil Wax

Palm wax is a 100% natural wax produced from palm oil, which comes from the fruit of the oil palm tree. The oil palm tree is nature's highest yielding oil crop, and grows in tropical areas of Asia, America and Africa. Palm oil is a major global food source, and is widely used in toiletries and cosmetics.

Palm wax is a 100% natural, environmentally friendly alternative to paraffin wax.
Palm wax is from a renewable resource.
Palm wax is also cleaner burning, producing less soot. Palm wax candles burn longer, and have a whiter flame.

Palm wax production is clean and uses no harmful solvents or catalysts. Similar to the production of olive oil, the fruits of the oil palm tree are simply pressed to extract the oil, and then distilled to produce the wax.
