How To Burn Votive Candles - A Save Your Furniture!
So, you order your votive candle from FHSelect and eagerly await its delivery. Wow, that was fast, it's here already, so you unpack your box and you can already smell the fragrances as you open the tape sealing the box. Fantastic, they've sent the right one (naturally), you go to the draw that has the matches in, you know the one, it's out of reach of the children and has the scissor, letter opener and for some reason a key that you've never known what it unlocks! Anyway, you light the votive after placing it centrally on your favourite dresser, the one your great great grandmother left you. Almost immediately you can smell the candle, lovely. Off you go to make your cu of tea, you get dristracted by a neighbour who popped around. After your chat you return to the candle, oh dear, it's melted all over your best dresser. You see, you didn't read the FHSelect website did you? (Or this one for that matter!)
Votives are not made from the same wax as Pillar candles, due to their size and the fact that they're designed to give a prolonged burst of fragrance, votive candles liquify as they burn. They must be placed in a suitable holder prior to lighting. Once they heat up they liquify, and therefore realease the fragrance. Once the votive is blown out the wax cools and re-sets. However, as a responsible candle owner you naturally took heed and purchased a votive holder from one of FHSelect's marvelous Yankee Candle range of votive holders.
